Covid-19 Statement 24/03/2020
The health of our customers and colleagues is of paramount importance to us.
In view of the most recent government advisory we can advise that we intend to close (pause) our business as soon as possible.
We have measures in place across our business that are designed to adapt against the backdrop of government advice.
We shall however remain available for all basic administrative function. It is imperative we remain operative in this respect to fulfill our commitment to communicate with customers and suppliers and retain our abilities to pay all our suppliers and staff.
A skeleton staff comprising of Manager & Director level colleagues will remain on site to communicate with all customers, colleagues and suppliers until further notice.
We want to play our part in helping overcome this crisis. We have been doing this by taking steps to protect our people from the risk of the virus. We also do this by helping our customers provide essential maintenance of homes and public buildings, helping self-employed customers stay in business and by providing essential livelihoods for all our colleagues.
Deliveries
All existing delivery commitments will be honored, if we can, safely and practically. We will communicate with customers about this. From 24th March onwards we will be unable to accept deliveries until a provisional date of Wednesday 15th April 2020 on the basis that we feel we are unable to safely assess & control both risk and exposure to our delivery staff
Collections
We currently remain open for collections from our warehouse and are enforcing strict protocols on personal distancing in line with government advice. Our warehouses will remain open for the foreseeable future whilst we fulfill existing commitments as we slowly commence with our intention to pause our business
Goods Inwards & Supplier Deliveries
We currently remain open to receive deliveries into our warehouse and are enforcing strict protocols on personal distancing in line with government advice. Our warehouses will remain open for the foreseeable future whilst we fulfill existing commitments as we slowly commence with our intention to pause our business
A message from the Directors & Management of our business
The level of resilience we have seen from our colleagues here is unprecedented. All whom have shown exceptional levels of commitment & teamwork. Our HR policy has been revised to ensure all staff remain paid during this crisis. The decision to pause the majority of our operations is not taken lightly and whilst many companies may choose to remain active, we owe it to our entire supply chain to fully comply with the headline piece of advice; to stay home and to stay safe.
We will all continue, and we look forward to speaking to you all very soon.
Best wishes,
Alex Arscott
